For St. John’s Christmas

The needs in our neighbourhoods and community are often times intensified during this time of year as we approach the Christmas season.

We know that there are organizations in our city who are doing amazing work to support, encourage, and inspire those who are struggling in this season.

It has been our mission to partner with others in order to help our community.

This Christmas we have several specific partnerships that we are committed to supporting. We hope you join us and are blessed by the opportunity to help others.

For more information on a project and how to support that project, contact Pastor Justin.

join us in supporting these INITIATIVES:

ANgel Tree

You can bring the hope and love of Christ to children this Christmas and let them know they are cherished. When you support the Angel Tree project, you will help replace a child's difficult reminder of disconnection from their incarcerated parent, with a new memory of comfort and connection. The cost of an Angel Tree Christmas gift is $35 per child.

If you would like to donate to this project, you can give through one of these options:

  1. Give Online via. Credit Card to the category, “Angel Tree” (bethesda.ca/give)

  2. Send E-Transfer to give@bethesda.ca (please indicate ‘Angel Tree’ in the memo / note)

  3. Cheque, Cash, or Debit accepted at the church (please indicate ‘Angel Tree’ on contribute envelope)

Christmas Hampers

The need for Christmas hampers continues to increase throughout our community.

We are pleased to partner with community centres and local food banks to support those in need.

The places we are partnering with this year include:

  • Memorial University Campus Food Bank

  • North East Avalon Food Bank

  • McSheffrey Resource Centre

  • Divine Mercy Food Bank

Contact Pastor Justin for more information.

Christmas Supperbowl

On December 21st we will be preparing to serve a Christmas Dinner through the Supper Bowl Ministry in downtown St. John’s. If you would like to contribute financially, donate food items or are able to serve, please contact Pastor Justin for details.

There are 3 ways to get involved:

We are happy to help provide Christmas Stockings to the Newfoundland & Labrador Correctional Centre for Women.

Shoeboxes

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes are available in the church foyer for pick up.

Please return your shoebox gifts on Sunday, November 10th. Or to the church office during the week of November 12-15.

THE SINGLE PARENT ASSOCIATION OF NL

Your support of the Christmas Magic Program will help give children of single parent families an unforgettable Christmas experience.

The funds of your donation will contribute to providing gifts for children as well as ensuring support for families to have the necessities they need for Christmas dinner.

family Sponsorships

We are once again providing aid for children and parents this Christmas through partnerships with organizations like The Single Parent Association and Angel Tree Christmas (families of prisoners through the delivery of a Christmas gift on behalf of the incarcerated parent).

Additionally, we will be supporting numerous families who are part of our Bethesda community that are looking for some extra care during this season. Your generosity helps to provide these families with what they are in need of this Christmas.

Are you interested in sponsoring a family? Contact Pastor Justin.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON!

Care Fund

This fund enables us to care for immediate needs both within the church and in the community. Particularly this time of year, we are able to help individuals and families in very tangible ways because of your generosity.
