Take ALPHA
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, open, and informal environment. Whether you're just checking it out, new to faith, or coming back to church, you are invited.
Alpha typically run over 9-12 weeks. In each session there’s food, a short talk, and discussion in small groups.
Newcomers are welcome to join at any time. For more info, or to register, visit bethesda.ca/alpha. Also, if you have recently given your life to Christ, text “BELIEVE” to (709) 701-3336 to help us follow up with you and help you along this new journey.
Bible Reading & Prayer
As followers of Christ, there are a couple of basics that are necessary for our spiritual health: Bible reading and prayer. The Bible is the primary way that God speaks to us. As we read the Bible, it strengthens and encourages us daily. Prayer is simply talking to God and listening to what God would say to us.
A great tool is the YouVersion Bible App. It has Bible reading plans, as well as daily readings that will inspire, encourage, and help you. Also, if you do not have a copy of the Bible, drop by the Guest Services desk for a complimentary copy on us.
Water Baptism
Water baptism is a visible act with a spiritual meaning. It is a symbol of Christ’s burial and resurrection, and a symbol of the death of our old life and the beginning of our new life in Christ. While water baptism does not make you a Christian, it publicly reveals that you are one! If you are interested in being baptized in water, email admin@bethedsda.ca and request the Water Baptism Info Kit and return your form to the main office.
Communion
Communion is something we encourage believers to take part in here at Bethesda the first Sunday of every month. As a community of faith, we remember what Christ has done for us by His death on the cross and look forward to the future when Jesus will come back again for His Church.
