The family of Marina Chubbs are inviting friends and acquaintances to join them for a celebration of Marina’s life on Wednesday June 5th at 2 PM at Bethesda Pentecostal Church, 1 Escasoni Place St. John’s (click here for directions).

Obituary
Marina Gwendolyn Chubbs, age 89, of St. John’s NL, passed peacefully away on June 2nd, 2024.
Marina was born into the family of Moses and Florence Earle in Corner Brook, Newfoundland Labrador on April 19th, 1935.
She was the sixth of eleven children and was a gracious, godly example to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and to all those she encountered. She leaves a wonderful legacy of God’s love, hospitality and faithfulness, which she displayed to her high school sweetheart Harold and the family she raised.
Left to mourn are her loving and devoted husband shy of 65 years, Harold Chubbs, daughters, Donna (David), Debbie (Carl), and son David (Patricia), brothers Bill (Sybil) Earle, Jack (Betty) Earle, sisters Doris (Roy) Moores, Barbara Brown, Mildred (Charlie) Sheppard, and Christine (Bob) Jones. Her adored grandchildren Andrew (Deidre), Peter (Michelle), Matthew (Holly), Melanie (Jason), Ashley and Caitlyn and great grandchildren Rae, Pierson, Marcel, Hannah, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Marina was predeceased by her brothers, Art and Clarence Earle, and sisters, Mary Broomfield, and Joyce Lane.
Visitation will take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home on Hamilton Ave, St. John’s, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday June 4th. A service celebrating Marina’s life will be held on Wednesday June 5th at 2:00 p.m. at Bethesda Pentecostal Church on McDonald Drive, St. John’s. Interment to follow at the Mount Pleasant.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Marina, donations can be made to the Canadian Bible Society or to the charity of your choice.
